KARACHI: BIE to discuss script case on 25th

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 22: The issue of the "dubious script" of HSC (pre-engineering) annual examinations 2004, will be placed at the meeting of the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, on October 25.

An enquiry committee constituted on the issue by the BIE chairman had submitted its report early September, suggesting severe action be taken against three employees of the board as well as their departmental head for tampering with the script. However, there was no follow up action until a couple of days back.

It may mentioned that the board's chairman had mentioned that among other things, he was also waiting for a directive from the secretariat of the Sindh governor, who is the board's controlling authority.

However, according to a supplementary agenda circulated among the board's members on October 21, a deputy secretary at the Governor House, in a letter dated September 8, had already asked the board to take up the alleged malpractice matter in the light of the board's examination rules and place the issue before the board at the earliest.
