KARACHI: Guards get away with Rs20m cash

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 20: Two guards of a private security company took away US dollars equivalent to over Rs20 millions from a senior official of an exchange company in Saddar on Wednesday evening.

Police said that Zafar Paracha, senior official of Paracha Exchange Company, was transporting the cash from his office located in Mateen Centre Abdullah Haroon Road, when his two security guards hit him with rifle butt. As he fell down they made their escape in his Honda Civic.

A senior police official told Dawn that the two security guards identified as Ali Khan and Shaukat Ali were hired by the private security company only a month back. Both hailed from Mardan, police added.

It may be recalled here that a few months back, a vehicle of an exchange company was deprived of over Rs10 million by armed suspects near Sindh Secretariat.
