MULTAN, Oct 19: Security forces are said to have arrested on Tuesday the suspected mastermind of a blast at a rally in Multan earlier this month that killed 42 people.

Amjad Shah, who belongs to the outlawed Shia militant group Sipah-i-Mohammad, was arrested in Toba Tek Singh late Monday, said a senior police official.

"He was the mastermind behind the Multan attack, and now we are looking for three of his accomplices," said the official.

Police recovered a computer, mobile phones, hand grenades, explosives and some documents from Shah, he said.-Reuters
