Rocca visits Gilgit

GILGIT, Oct 18: Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca visited Gilgit on Monday. Official sources told APP here that her visit was official- cum-private.

She visited Hunza and inspected projects being executed by the Aga Khan Development Network.

She also visited Professional Development Centre and went round various sections and was given a detailed briefing by its head Dr Brian.

She appreciated the comprehensive professional education being giving by the centre. It was learnt that she also held a meeting with high officials of the Northern Areas administration.

The outgoing US envoy, Nancy Powell, accompanied the Assistant Secretary of State during her visit to Gilgit.-APP
