LAHORE, Oct 16:Sri Lankan skipper Marvan Atapattu said on Saturday that all-round performance of his boys made a major contribution in outclassing Pakistan in three-nation final at the Qadhafi Stadium on Saturday.
In his post-final press conference, Atapattu said that Jayasuriya took five wickets and and that made big difference.
He said that staging a comeback after losing two back-to-back matches to Pakistan was a significant achievement and it would give his side an edge over Pakistan before starting the two Test match series at Faisalabad.
He said that the pitch was the same on which Pakistan chased a formidable total of 293 on Thursday, but as there was no dew, the ball turned a little bit ,creating problems for the batsmen in the second session.
Captain Inzamamul Haq admitted that facing defeat in fifth consecutive crucial match could well tag Pakistan as chokers.
He said that Pakistan played well in all the four previous matches of the contest but played badly in the final which was not a good sign.
He said that the middle-order had been totally flopped while openers made some good efforts.
He added that his boys had improved their fitness level but lacked in experience.
He further remarked that if Pakistan batsmen played with confidence they could chase the big total. However, he admitted that no team could chase a big total everytime.
Inzamam said that Pakistan conceded 25 runs more in last overs and that made the difference.
