QUETTA, Oct 16: The Balochistan Government will arrange a meeting between the Gasfield Labour Union and the Pakistan Petroleum Limited management to resolve the labour problems in Sui.

The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Chief Minster Jam Mohammad Yusuf here on Saturday.

Minister for State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mir Naseer Mengal also attended the meeting.

It observed that the situation at Sui was deteriorating due to labour strike and protest over several months but the authorities concerned had not taken any steps for resolving the issue.

It was decided that a meeting should be arranged between the labour union and the PPL management. The chief minister will preside over the meeting and and the minister for state and federal secretary for petroleum and natural resources and other officials will attend it.

"A permanent solution to the labour problem would be found in the meeting so that gas supply from Sui should be ensured without any interruption," it was decided.

The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to arrange the meeting as soon as possible so that the plea of the striking employees and labour leaders could be given proper attention. He said the provincial government would make all possible efforts for solving the problems of the employees and take steps for improving the law and order situation.
