LAHORE: CDG asked to check prices

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 16: District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan on Saturday directed the City District Government officials to ensure that commodities were sold at the Sunday and Ramazan Bazaars at Re1 per kg below the open market rates.

The DCO gave the directions while inspecting the newly-established Ramazan Bazaars at Shadman, Wahdat Colony and Township.

He also ordered registration of cases against two stall holders for selling 20kg atta bag for Rs192 instead of the fixed retail price of Rs190.

He directed the CDG officials to ensure that ample stocks of essential commodities were available at all the Sunday and Ramazan Bazaars.

Mr Sultan also stressed the need for opening maximum number of stalls of eatables at the bazaars instead of other goods. He said that attention should be paid to opening of stalls at the bazaars instead of bringing 'rehris' there.

He said that prices and supplies at the Ramazan and Sunday Bazaars should be continuously monitored and daily supply of fresh fruits and vegetables should be ensured.

Officials should ensure availability of commodities at the bazaars instead of increasing the number of bazaars, he added.
