KARACHI: Woman, among 3 shot dead in city

KARACHI, Oct 16: Three persons were shot dead in separate incidents in the city on Saturday. A man in his mid-30s was kidnapped, tortured and shot dead in the Old City area. His body was found in a park in the Risala police limits.

The area people informed the police, and they shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy. The identity of the man could not be established.

The body was found with its throat slit in the Nizamuddin Park in a densely-populated area of the Old City.

Police believed that the man might have been kidnapped and tortured and later his body was dumped in the park. The body was later kept at the Edhi's morgue.

In Khokhrapar, some unknown gunmen entered a house in Madina Colony and shot a woman to death. The assailants, who did not commit robbery, fled the scene.

The woman was identified as Rabia, 43, wife of Rafiq Baig. The murder appeared to be an outcome of personal enmity.

In Manzoor Colony, a man killed his brother-in-law and injured his sister in a domestic dispute in Baloch Colony police limits.

Police said Rukhsana developed some differences with her husband and came to her parent's home on Friday.

Amjad Piayare, 32, father of two, came to pacify his wife Rukhsana on Saturday where he had a dispute with his brother-in-law Mittho.

Mittho who got violent opened fire at Amjad with a TT pistol.

Rukhsana tried to rescue her husband and she also received a bullet wound in her face. Amjad died on the spot and the alleged killer escaped.
