ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Pakistan and Belarus have signed a convention for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to tax on income between the two countries.

An official at the Central Board of Revenue told Dawn on Saturday that the agreement was signed recently by the Pakistani ambassador with senior tax officials of Belarus.

With coming into effect of the treaty, the official said the people of the two countries would get benefit from it. The convention will augment the already existing political, trade and economic relations between the two countries and open new avenues for trade and business to the best interests of business communities of the contracting states.
