KASUR, Oct 15: All district assembly members have been directed to submit their uplift schemes amounting to Rs400,000 each and projects on other heads to the office of EDO (Works) within two days.

This was stated by District Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmed Khan while addressing the district assembly session here. Naib Nazim and convener Mian Sana Khaliq Karimee chaired the session while senior officers of district departments and scores of district assembly members attended the meeting.

The members, including Haji Javed Akhtar, Rana Abdul Shakoor, Yousaf Shah and Habib Bhatti, tabled various motions and resolutions. They also urged upon the house to submit the performance of the public safety commission during the next session.

Haji Javed and Aslam Ansari pointed out that sasta atta sales points set up under the Ramazan package were insufficient. DCO Anwar Aziz assured the house that the number of sale points would be increased in the light of proposals of the house. The convener assured the house that special measures would be taken to keep the prices of consumers' items in check during Ramazan.

FAIR PRICE SHOPS: The district government will establish 26 fair price shops in the district with the collaboration of the business community. This was stated by District Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmad while presiding over a meeting here on Friday.

The district Nazim said that a complaint cell headed by DDO (revenue) had also been established to take strict action against the hoarders and profiteers during Ramazan.
