Wajid helps KW take lead
KARACHI, Oct 14: Wajid Ali smashed an attractive 115 to help Karachi Whites take a lead of 101-runs on the first innings over Quetta on the second day of the PCB Inter-regional Level-II cricket tournament at the UBL Sports Complex on Thursday.
Responding to Quetta's total of 208, Karachi Whites scored 309 in 82.1 overs. By close of play in the three-day match, Quetta were 23 for one and still trail by 78 runs with nine second innings wickets in hand.
Wajid, who hit 99 in the one-day event against the same team on Monday, struck 17 boundaries in his 175-ball knock. Ariz Kamal made 45 with three fours and Mohammad Farooq cracked 34 with the aid of seven boundaries. Pace man Abdul Rehman was the pick of Quetta's bowler with four for 69 in 17.1 overs, while slow left-armer Abdul Hameed grabbed three for 58.
