Uniform bill last nail in democracy's coffin: Imran

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 14: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said passing of uniform bill by the National Assembly will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of sham democracy introduced by President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

Imran Khan said by making a false promise about taking off his uniform, Gen Musharraf was in gross violation of article 62 (f) and thus stood disqualified from holding the office of president.

He said had the past rulers been held accountable, the present rulers would not have dared violate the Constitution with impunity. He said it was a tragedy that while petty criminals were put behind bars, not a single FIR was lodged against the despotic rulers responsible for the separation of East Pakistan.

He said India formed a commission to investigate Kargil conflict so that it could learn from its mistakes. However, in Pakistan despite the fiasco of Kargil retreat, no commission was formed to investigate the tragedy, he added.
