HYDERABAD: 129 power schemes completed

HYDERABAD, Oct 14: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company completed 129 power transmission schemes during the month of September under the Tameer-i-Pakistan, Tameer-i-Sindh and the Khushhal Pakistan Programmes in different districts of Sindh.
According to a report released by the project-director (construction), Mr Guftar Anjum, here on Wednesday, six villages of Thatta district and Ghotki were electrified at a cost of Rs7.644 million under the Tameer-i-Pakistan Programme.
The schemes were recommended by the prime minister. Under the same programme, 21 villages were electrified at a cost of Rs10.751 million in Hyderabad, Dadu, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad, Nawabshah and Sanghar districts. The schemes were identified by MNAs of the respective districts.
Under the senators schemes of Tameer-i-Pakistan Programme, five villages were electrified at a cost of Rs3.084 million in Badin, Thatta and Mirpurkhas districts. Under the Tameer-i-Sindh programme, three villages were provided electricity at a cost of Rs1.976 million in Mirpurkhas district.
Under the same programme, 54 villages were electrified at a cost of Rs20.141 million in Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze and Sanghar districts. The schemes were identified by the MPs of the area.
Under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme, electricity was provided to 14 villages at the cost of Rs4.765 million of Badin, Mirpurkhas and Khairpur districts. Under the partial programme, electricity was provided to four villages of Khairpur, Larkana and Nawabshah districts at a cost of Rs1.810 million.
In addition to this, 16 schemes of the low tension were completed at a cost of Rs5.256 million. Under the government deposit programme, five villages were electrified in Sukkur and Shikarpur districts.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing crackdown against power thieves and defaulters, the staff of the Shaheen Umer sub-division in Hyderabad conducted a raid on five tube-wells and a fruit cold storage where the meters were found tampered with.
