By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 14: Consul General of Saudi Arabia Dr Hassan A. Attar said on Thursday that his country was ready to discuss and remove obstacles, if any, to promote trade between the two countries.

In a meeting with the delegation of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) led by its Vice-Chairman Muhammad Anwar Mianoor, the Saudi diplomat assured all assistance for improving trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Anwar Mianoor apprised the Saudi envoy of the role of the association and future prospects of rice trade between the two countries. He requested the Saudi consul general to provide all assistance in getting visa for REAP members for the Kingdom and other Gulf countries.

Dr Attar promptly responded to the request and arranged a meeting of the REAP delegation with the secretary general of the Gulf Counsel and other consul generals of Gulf countries on Friday (today).

The consul general also assured the delegation that he would take immediate steps to facilitate the visit of REAP delegation to Saudi Arabia after Eid-ul-Fitr. Mr Mianoor assured that Pakistani rice exporters would always look after the requirement and interest of Saudi rice importers and send them best quality product.
