Aisam clinches ITF title

LAHORE, Oct 12: Pakistan's Aisamul Haq added yet another feather to his cap when he defeated German opponent, Sebastian Fitz, the No.2 seed in a three set final of the ITF international championship in Lagos, Nigeria, according to a message received on Tuesday.

It was Aisam's first appearance in Africa. Aisam has already won 33 titles in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. He won with the score line 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3.

Fitz upset Aisam, wrapping up the first set easily in 30 minutes. In the second set Aisam matched Fitz but only to retain his own service to play the tie breaker. Aisam won the tie breaker to restore the parity (1-1). He went on to win the third with great ease 6-3 to register his first win in Africa.
