PESHAWAR: CM suspends two health officials

By Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 11: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani suspended two health officials of the district headquarters hospital in Lakky Marwat on Sunday.

The chief minister was irritated by the absence of Director-General of Health Dr Jalilur Rehman and EDO of Lakky Marwat Dr Mohammad Iqbal during his visit to the hospital, and ordered their suspension.

The chief minister ordered an inquiry against those officials who had not included construction of a mosque in the PC-1 for the DHQ building in Lakky Marwat, which he inaugurated on Sunday.

An MMA government directive issued a year ago had made it mandatory upon state functionaries to include the construction of a mosque while planning to build a new government building, said an official handout. The chief minister also got annoyed over the waste of medical equipment and supplies.
