LAHORE: Ban on public functions

LAHORE, Oct 11: Acting District Nazim Farooq Amjad Mir on Monday imposed an immediate ban on all kinds of public functions in the city district in public interest.

A notification issued by the acting District Nazim said that the ban would be applicable to all kinds of public meetings, processions and political and religious gatherings. He said that all the permissions given for holding such gatherings earlier had also been cancelled.

BRIEFING: The acting District Nazim briefed the visiting World Bank Urban and Water Sector Mission on the economic opportunities and challenges in the provincial metropolis.

The mission led by Sonia Hammam and comprising water and sanitation specialist Alain Locussol, consultant David Dowall, urban advisor Patricia Clarke, senior urban specialist Shahnaz Arshad and country director John Wall is visiting the country to analyze the economic capabilities of all the cities.
