'Talks, operation can't go together'
By Amanullah Kasi
QUETTA, Oct 10: Leaders of Balochistan National Party-Mengal, National Party and Baloch Students Organization have vowed to continue their struggle for the rights of Baloch people
and accused the government of victimizing nationalists for opposing the mega uplift programme in the province.
Addressing separate public meetings on Sunday at the Shahwani Ground and the Bungulzai House in remembrance of the martyres of October 10, 1992, during clashes between rival groups, the speakers expressed identical views on issues facing the Baloch people.
Habib Jalib Baloch, Abdur Rauf Mengal, MNA, Akhtar Hussain Lango, MPA, Sajid Tareen of BNP-M, leader of opposition Kachkol Ali Baloch, Rehmat Baloch, Tahir Bizenjo of NP, Amanullah Baloch and Mohiuddin Baloch of BSO addressed the gatherings.
They cautioned the government that the negotiation process and military actions could not go side-by-side and said the rulers should choose one path. They declared that the Baloch political leadership believed in the resolution of issues through negotiations as use of force would endanger the country's integrity.
They alleged that the Gwadar seaport and other mega projects were being developed in order to settle millions of people from Punjab in Balochistan and to change the demographic complexion of the province, turning the Baloch majority into a minority.
