SUKKUR: Mufti Jamil's assassination condemned

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Oct 10: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal will observe three days of mourning in Sindh to condemn the killing of Mufti Mohammad Jamil and Maulana Nazir Taunsvi in Karachi on Saturday.

This was announced by MMA leaders Maulana Abdul Qayoom Halejvi, Noor Mohammad Qadri, Maulana Abdul Haq Mahar and others here on Sunday. They held Sindh and federal governments responsible for the murders of the religious scholars and demanded their resignations.

They said incidents of Sialkot, Multan and Karachi were a proof the government's failure to provide protection to people. The MMA leaders announced to hold a protest demonstration against the incidents.

STUDENTS: Activists of the Jamiat Tulba-i-Islam held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against policies of the federal education minister. Carrying placards, the protesters were raising slogans against the government and the education minister for allegedly working on the US agenda.

Speaking on the occasion, Sukkur JTI chief Naeem Ahmad Kamboh and other leaders demanded immediate withdrawal of a decision to establish Aga Khan Board. They alleged that the education minister wanted to make the young generation secular and demanded that the government should refrain from such policies.
