100 suspects arrested

ISLAMABAD, Oct 9: The police have rounded up more than 100 people linked to outlawed Islamic militant groups in a new crackdown after two bomb attacks which killed more than 70 people within a week, police said on Saturday.

"The swoop is focused at the moment in Punjab and is aimed at shaking up the clandestine network of the banned militant sectarian groups," a senior police official told AFP.
