BAGHDAD, Oct 9: The US military said on Saturday it had "absolute confirmation" that Tareq Aziz, Iraq's former deputy prime minister, was still alive.
"I can absolutely confirm that he is still alive," Lt Col Barry Johnson, spokesman for detainee operations in Iraq, said told.
He was speaking after media reports that Aziz had died in US custody.
"The reports are untrue. There is no change to his status," he said. "Tareq Aziz is alive and well," Johnson said.-Reuters
