Prime suspect arrested

FAISALABAD, Oct 9: One of the prime suspects of the Multan bomb blast incident was arrested on Friday from a house in Muhallah Sadaat, Shorkot tehsil.

A senior police officer requesting anonymity said that Multan police raided the house and arrested Farrukh Abbas, son of Manzoor Hussain, and shifted him to Multan amid tight security.

He further said that the arrest of Farrukh Abbas could lead to the arrest of other terrorists involved in the bomb blast that claimed 41 lives.

BAN: The District Nazim on Saturday imposed a ban on the assembly of more than five people, holding of congregations and public meetings in Faisalabad and its other tehsils with immediate effect.

District Nazim Zahid Nazir imposed the ban under Section 144 and asked the law enforcement agencies to implement these orders in letter and spirit. These orders would intact for two days.

All the programmes, public gatherings, even the musical programmes and the political demonstrations have been postponed.

The ban has also affected the protest move announced by the PML-N throughout the district against the completion of five years of the Musharraf regime.
