SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 9: Immediately after his release on bail by the additional district & sessions judge under 16 MPO, Nankana bar secretary-general Anwar Zahid was re-arrested here on Saturday in a sedition case.

Reports said as soon as Mr Zahid came out of the district jail, B-Division police, led by SHO Karamat Bhatti, informed the lawyer that he was under arrest in a sedition case. Later, the bar secretary-general was handed over to Nankana City police.

His three colleagues, bar president Rana Ali Asghar, former president Rai Amin Bhatti and Chaudhry Barkat Ali Ghayoor, were already detained under 3 MPO for the last 10 days in Sheikhupura jail.

A large number of lawyers present outside the jail condemned the arrest of Mr Zahid and demanded of the LHC chief justice to look into the matter.

SHOT DEAD: A woman was shot dead by her relative over a family feud here on Saturday on the Ferozwala court premises.

Reports said Zubaida Bibi (45) was returning from the court when her relative Nawaz along with three accomplices opened fire killing her on the spot.
