More troops deployed along Afghan border

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: Pakistan on Friday deployed more troops along its western border to stop cross-border movement of militants.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that additional troops were deployed in pursuance of Pakistan's goal of maintaining cordial relations with Afghanistan and ensuring peace during forthcoming elections.

Polling in the Afghan presidential election is scheduled to be held today (Saturday). "These additional troops have plugged-in possible gaps and will exercise vigilance to prevent cross-border activities of miscreants who may aim at disrupting the elections," said the ISPR.
