NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: 3 bandits, policeman die

By Abdul Aziz

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 8: Three bandits and one police constable were killed in an encounter near the village of Koro Ujjan on Friday.

It is learnt that the three bandits had kidnapped two brothers, Niaz and Nadir, sons of businessman Taj Muhammad Arain, from '60-Mile', Chak Salho in the district of Nawabshah, and were taking them to the katcha area of River Indus when their car went out of order near Padidan.

The bandits hijacked a car and proceeded towards Bhirya and Tharushah. But the car was chased by parties of four police stations and was intercepted near Achhri Masjid in the village of Koro Ujjan.

In the ensuing encounter, police constable Tayabuddin Kalhoro of Naushahro Feroze and the three dacoits were killed and the two hostages were released.
