KARACHI: Bullet-riddled body of Haqiqi man found

KARACHI, Oct 8: The bullet-riddled body of a young man killed by unknown persons was found near a farm house located in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station early Friday morning.

Police said the victim identified as Shahid Kamal, 32, was associated with the Mohajir Qaumi Movement, but was in hiding for the past several years. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.

Hospital sources said the body bore four bullet wounds in the abdomen. Police said that several identity cards of various newspapers were recovered from his possession. The victim was a father of two children.

KIDNAPPED: The son of a factory owner was kidnapped by unknown persons from Saeedabad late Thursday night. Police said Zaheer Ahmed, 21, was present at his father's factory in Saeedabad, Sector 4-A when unknown armed men barged into the factory and whisked him away at gunpoint.

Later, the family received a ransom call demanding Rs5 million as ransom, police said. The case has been referred to the AVCC and CPLC for further investigation.
