MINGORA, Oct 6: National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Lt-Gen Farukh Javed has said that work on the Lowari tunnel and approach road will be initiated soon.

He said that representatives of seven international companies would visit the sites on October 10 in order to examine the situation before the opening of the tenders. He was talking to a delegation of notables, led by Mohammad Nisar Khan Wardag, naib nazim, district council Dir (upper), on Wednesday.

The NHA chairman assured the delegation about the early reconstruction of Timergara-Dir road and Lowari tunnel project. He said that the affected people would also be properly compensated and quality of material would strictly be maintained.
