HYDERABAD, Oct 6: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, directed the DPO of Dadu on Wednesday to exhume the body of a woman to determine whether she was the daughter of a petitioner.

Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani of the SHC bench issued the order after going through an inquiry report of the DPO, stating that sufficient evidence was not found to conclude that the petitioner's daughter, Ms Amanat, was alive as claimed by him in the petition.

The DPO said that he had got the inquiry conducted through the TPO of Mehar who reported that no evidence had been found to the fact that woman was alive. The DPO said that it had been learnt that she had died and had been buried in the Pir Musafar graveyard near Radhan.

He further said exhumation of the body by a special medical board was postponed on the request of the petitioner's son in the presence of the civil judge and judicial magistrate-I.

The SHC judge said that the DPO could be issued a judicial order for exhumation of the body to be conducted on October 12 and the petitioner also agreed to the proposition.
