LAHORE, Oct 5: Pakistan maintained advantage despite India's fight back on the second day of the India-Pakistan golf championship for Kirloskar Trophy with the score being 8 1/2- 3 1/2 points on Tuesday.

Pakistan need only four wins, out of a total of 12 matches to be played on Wednesday to lift the trophy. But India gave Pakistan a tough time as both won three matches each on Tuesday, out of a total six, to share six points.

In the national team category, Dr Aimal Zaman and Vaqas Ahmed lost to Jaskirat S. Dullet and Vikrant Chopra. The Indians were three up at the 16th to win. However, Pakistan bounced back when Shahid Javed and Tariq Mehmood defeated Jaideep Patwardan and Amarbir Singh after a close fight. Shahid and Tariq were only one-up, the lead which they retained from 12th hole, before finishing the tie at the 18th.

In the 40 to 50 age group, Indian Amit Luthra and Ashit Luthra had the better of Mehmood Aziz and Farkhar Imam with a lead of three hole at the 16th. Pakistan once again hit back when Saud Khan and Asif Mehdi, who had lost the match on first day, outputted Sanjeev Mehra and Ranjit S Atwal. The home pairled five-up when four hole's play was left.

Pakistan's duo Shoaib Bokhari and Shafique Bhatti came out with flying colours against Ashok S Malik and Dr V.T Date. The winners had secured four-up lead at the 15th.
