SUKKUR, Oct 2: The Consul-General of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Mikhaylov, has said his country is interested in investing in different sectors in Pakistan to enhance trade relations between the countries.

A press release said the Russian diplomat held a meeting with members of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the circuit house here on Saturday. The HCCI members discussed matters of mutual interest with the diplomat.

Mr Mikhaylov said there were immense investment opportunities in Pakistani industries. He informed the traders that an exhibition of Russian products would be held in Karachi on Oct 14.

ROAD INAUGURATED: District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah inaugurated a road, constructed at a cost of Rs.800 million, from Sangrar to the Mahab Ali Shah village on Saturday, said an official press release.

Speaking on the occasion, the nazim said the district government was making efforts to lay a network of roads to enhance economic activities in the area.

Later, Mr Shah inaugurated the Urs of Mir Mahab Ali Shah and attended Malah (Sindhi Wrestling).

He announced Rs10,000 for participants of Malah and construction of a ground in the Mahab Ali Shah village.
