GUJRANWALA: BISE puts off intermediate papers in Sialkot city

GUJRANWALA, Oct 2: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Saturday postponed Intermediate Part-I supplementary examinations, 2004, in Sialkot due to critical situation after bomb blast in a mosque on Friday.

Controller of examinations Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Awan said here four papers - physics, chemistry, home economics and psychology - which were scheduled to be held on Oct 2 and 4 have been postponed in the Sialkot city. However, these papers would be conducted at other examination centres according to schedule.

SECURITY: The district police heightened security at all sensitive places including mosques, imambargahs, railway stations and general bus stand, following Sialkot mosque blast.

The DPO and ASP visited a number of places in the city and other areas and directed officials concerned to be alert against the suspect terrorists.
