NWFP to play in New Delhi

PESHAWAR, Oct 1: NWFP cricket team is scheduled to visit India this week to play three limited overs friendly matches against different clubs of the Delhi Cricket Association. This is for the first time in the country's history that a team from NWFP will visit India.

Reciprocating the gesture Delhi Cricket Association team would visit Peshawar in November, said Chef de Mission NWFP Cricket team, Malik Naveed during a press conference on Friday. The visit of NWFP cricket team would be a right step in restoring traditional and friendly ties between the two neighbours, he told newsmen.

Giving details, he said that the team is scheduled to leave for Lahore on Oct 4 to travel to New Delhi the next day via Delhi-Lahore bus service. He said that all matches would be played in Delhi and at the same time turned down the possibility of extending their visit to other parts of India.

TEAM: Qazi Shafiq (Captain), Fazal Malik, Irfan ud Din, Waqar Ahmad, Nauman Habib, Zeeshan Mohsin, Mohammad Sadiq, Asmat Ullah, Imtiaz Afridi, Jibran Khan, Yasir Arafat, Mohammad Naeem, Aftab Ahmad, Akhtar Sarfaraz, Farhan Habib, Mir Wais, and Sajad Ahmad.
