Inzamam doubtful for 2nd ODI

MULTAN, Sept 30: Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq suffered groin injury while batting against Zimbabwe in the opening of the triangular one-day series at Multan Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The injury created doubts whether the captain would be available to lead in the next match, however, a PCB spokesman hoped he would recover within few days to participate in Sunday's encounter against Zimbabwe in Peshawar.

"Inzamam was unable field since he got injured when he was batting," Yousuf Youhana, the Pakistan vice-captain, told reporters after the game. Inzamam made 73 to rescue Pakistan from 32 for four.

Team manager Haroon Rasheed later said that Inzamam has been put under observation for two days. "He is being given treatment and team physiotherapist would monitor his condition for over the next two days," he said. -APP
