ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: A contingent of six multi-role F-16s of Pakistan Air Force reached Turkey on Wednesday to participate in a multi-air force exercise code-named "Anatolian Eagle".
The Turkish Air Force accorded a warm welcome to PAF fighting Falcons, says press release of the Pakistan Air Force here. The participation in the exercise will be an interesting as well as challenging task for Falcons of the PAF, it added.
Besides Pakistan, air forces from the US, Germany, Holland, Italy and Turkey are orchestrating air battle scenarios in demanding operational environments. A fortnight in Turkey would not only shape up training of PAF officers and men but would also serve as a milestone in strengthening ties between the countries participating in the exercise.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, will visit the Turkish airbase holding the exercise and witness the culminating high-intensity air operations. The PAF has in the past participated in multi-national air force exercises with the USA, the UK, Iran and Turkey.
