KARACHI: Action against tax defaulters ordered

KARACHI, Sept 29: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Excise and Taxation Mr M. A. Jalil on Wednesday impressed upon officials of the department to expedite the process of recovery of government revenues.

For the purpose, he asked them to acquire the services of the Advocate General Sindh or private lawyers to get all pending cases disposed of. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Mr Jalil.

The meeting was attended by Law Secretary Syed Ghulam Nabi, Exise Secretary Subhan Memon, Advocate Rashid Akhund, Director Taxes Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, and other officials. The adviser directed them to initiate legal action against all tax defaulters and seal off their properties.
