KARACHI: Man gunned down

KARACHI, Sept 27: A young man was shot dead at Sea View on Monday morning. Police said that Waheed Salman, 30, was sitting on the sea front along with his wife at 7:30am
, when unknown suspects stepped out of a car and shot a single bullet at Waheed and escaped after snatching his cell phone.
Victim's wife, apparently in a state of shock, left the crime scene and informed Bufferzone police about the incident. Clifton TPO Munir Shaikh told Dawn that the victim was in movie-making business, residing in Bufferzone. Though the couple was married, but girl's Rukhsati had not taken place, the TPO added.
The victim had cash in his valet, but the suspects left it un-touched, the police said, ruling out the aspect of dacoity, saying that the motive behind the killing was not clear yet.
Even the cell phone, which was taken away by the suspects, was not a costly one, the police added. The police reached the spot, and shifted the body, which was lying unattended at the spot, to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.
ACCIDENTS: Three persons died in road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday. A cleaner of a truck died after he fell from the vehicle and hit his head against the road in Tauheed Commercial, DHA.
Body of the victim, Mohammad Zafar, 23, was taken to the JPMC for legal formalities. Police said that the accident was caused due to bumpy road. Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died in accident in Landhi.
Police said that Zeeshan was hit by a speeding vehicle in Korangi Industrial Area police limits and died on the spot. His body was taken to the JPMC for legal formalities. In Lyari, a man was knocked down to death near Mera Naka. His body was taken to the Lyari General Hospital.
