SRINAGAR, Sept 26: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to the people to completely boycott the by-election ploy on October 13.

The by-elections are scheduled to be held on October 13 in Batmaloo, Pahalgam, Basoli and Akhnoor assembly constituencies.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar on Sunday emphasized that the Kashmiris have been offering unparalleled sacrifices not for farcical polls but for liberation from the Indian subjugation.

An APHC delegation, headed by Mohammad Yousaf Mir, carried out a campaign on Sunday against the by-election drama at Mujhagund, Malora and Laveypora localities of Batmaloo constituencies in Srinagar.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, in its meeting in Srinagar, decided to launch a full-fledged by-election boycott campaign from October 1 to October 13. The party's president, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who chaired the meeting, said, "Kashmiris are struggling for their right to self-determination, which will continue till the objective is achieved."

The chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammad Yasin Malik, addressing gatherings in Pahalgam constituency, appealed to the people to demonstrate full solidarity with the blood of the martyrs by completely boycotting the farcical by-elections. -APP
