KARACHI: Power cuts cause water shortage

KARACHI, Sept 25: Power failures at Dhabeji, Hub and Pipri pumping stations on Saturday caused a shortfall of 52.92mg water, causing shortage in many areas of the city.

Spokesman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board said that due to four-hour-long electricity interruption at the Hub pumping station, which started at 5.05am to 9.05am, about 14.0mg water could not be supplied to the city. Similarly, due to over one-hour-long power failure at the Dhabeji pumping station, 35.140mg less water was supplied to the city, he said.

He said an hour-long power breakdown at Pipri pumping station also caused a shortfall of 3.78mg water in the city.- PPI
