BAHAWALPUR, Sept 25: Scores of students of the Sadiq Egerton College on Saturday took out a rally to protest against police who, they said, were sheltering the killers of two youths.

The students, who assembled on the college premises, marched towards the DIG police office chowk to protest against police, who had allegedly failed to take action against 10 killers of two youths - Adnan and Ramzan - despite arresting them.

Two of the suspects have been sent on judicial remand while, according to protesters, the police were allegedly trying to bargain with eight others and wanted to register a dacoity case against the deceased.

The protesting students demanded that the arrested men should be challaned in the double murder case.

Later, some police officials reached the troubled spot and informed the students that legal action was under process against the eight suspects. The students dispersed on their assurance.

At least 10 people, including coach owner Riaz Gujjar and its driver, had shot dead two kabbadi players Ramzan and Adnan over the dispute of non-payment of fare.
