Turkish firm to quit Iraq

ANKARA, Sept 21: A Turkish company said on Tuesday it was suspending its operations in Iraq to save 10 employees abducted at the weekend by an Iraqi militant group which has threatened to kill them.

"We are halting our activities in Iraq," said Ali Haydar Veziroglu of the Vinsan construction company in a statement faxed to Reuters, adding that the workers had been trying to earn money for their families and to help the Iraqi people. -Reuters
