ISLAMABAD, Sept 19: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday asked parliamentarians to focus on the development of their constituencies.
Talking to parliamentarians who called on him and discussed the development projects of their areas, the prime minister said the MNAs should monitor the performance of federal institutions in their areas.
He said the public representatives should motivate people to participate in the process of development. Public grievances against the departments should be redressed immediately, he said.
He said the parliamentarians should make efforts to improve the performance of the organizations. He said the government would implement development programmes in collaboration with the district governments.
He asked the MNAs to coordinate with the district nazims and prepare phased programme for water supply, drainage, health and education. Senator Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal and MNAs Syed Mohammad Asghar Shah, Makhdoom Syed Basit Bukhari, Ghulam Haider Samejo and Dr Donia Aziz met the prime minister.
WATER AND POWER: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed the ministry of water and power to take initiatives to provide relief to the common man. The prime minister was talking to Minister of State for Water and Power Engineer Amir Muqam, who called on him at the PM House on Sunday.
Mr Aziz directed the minister to take appropriate measures to check line losses and over billing. The minister briefed the premier on the activities of his ministry with special reference to development projects in the water and power sectors. -APP
