SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 19: Narang Mandi police claimed to have arrested 13 proclaimed offenders and recovered sophisticated weapons from their possession.

A police spokesman told newsmen that the Narang police had launched a drive against the fugitives to check the deteriorating law and order situation in the region.

He said the arrested POs included Ijaz alias Maju, Safdar Ali Masti, Abad alias Bado, Pervez alias Poomy, Tassawar alias Kali, Tariq Masood, Nishat alias Nashi, Azhar alias Baba and Moazzam alias Moula.

He said that they were wanted by Narowal, Sheikhupura, Sargodha and Lahore police in several cases. Police had also recovered four Kalashnikovs, as many guns, one pistol and hundreds of cartridges from them.
