KARACHI: Setting up of modern institutes stressed

KARACHI, Sept 19: The Provincial Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination, Dr Sohrab Khan Sarki, has said no society can progress without education, stressing that coming generations will have to be more equipped with education in order to live in a developed and prosperous Pakistan.

He was addressing the 3rd award distribution ceremony of the Bilal Education Foundation and Memon Friends Educational Society. Establishment of international standard educational institutions were essential to face new-age challenges, he said, maintaining that well-educated youth were a guarantee of a stable, enlightened and a prosperous country.

Equipping students with moderate education, knowledge, ideas and norms was the need of time to make them productive citizens, he observed. The minister requested the masses to extend full cooperation towards educating each and every child of the nation. He called upon parents, public representatives, social workers, volunteers and NGOs to play their effective role in the war against illiteracy.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the fact that more than 70 per cent of the children quit education before completing primary, he said at least primary education was must for every child. He appealed to teachers to perform their duty honestly. - PPI
