RAHIM YAR KHAN, Sept 18: Gen Pervez Musharraf will not need to take vote of confidence from the National Assembly for his tenure as president if he takes off his uniform in time.
This was stated by Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal deputy secretary-general Liaquat Baloch while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.
He said the MMA would take some important decisions on future political strategy, protection of the constitution, the Wana operation, use of power against the people in Balochistan and the uniform issue in its supreme council session at Quetta on Sept 25.
He said that his party would resist any move of the present government to make the country a secular state. Mr Baloch said that if the Kalabagh dam would be made without the national consensus it would prove inimical to the country.
