JACOBABAD: Karo-kari: four shot dead

JACOBABAD, Sept 18: Two women and two men were shot dead on the pretext of karo-kari in upper Sindh during the last 48 hours ending on Saturday evening.

A man, Takat Jakhrani alias Abu, and a woman, Rani, were killed by six armed men on the pretext of karo- kari in Yasin Jakhrani village in Jacobabad district on Saturday.

Takat Jakhrani was on his way when armed men killed him and thereafter they shot dead Rani at her house.

Allah Dito, the father of the man, lodged an FIR against Karim Bux, Bag Ali, Saleem Jakhrani and three others at the Bakhshapur police station.

The accused are said to be close relatives of the woman.

Meanwhile, a man was killed over an old enmity in the jurisdiction of the A-section police in Kandhkot on Saturday.

Maur Bugti, 40, was selling fruit when two persons who came on a motorbike, shot him dead.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

SUKKUR: A man and a woman were gunned down in Adam Lakhan village in the limits of Andal Sundrani police station, Ghotki district on Friday.

The motive behind the killing of Mir Mohammad Lakhan and "R", daughter of Bahadur Lakhan, was said to be karo-kari.

The police said they were conducting raids to arrest the killers including the brother of the woman.
