GUJRANWALA, Sept 17: Mutahida Majlis Amal (MMA) president Qazi Husain Ahmad has said that President Gen Pervaiz Musharaf is bound to do away with his uniform by Dec 31 under the Seventeenth Amendment.

Speaking at a news conference here on Friday, he said 98 per cent people wanted that the president should take off his uniform. He criticized the Wana operation and warned that it was dangerous for stability of the country.

He pointed out that the Punjab government had first allowed his party to hold a public meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan but withdrew the permission later on. He said the public meeting would now be held in Peshawar instead.
