SAHIWAL, Sept 17: Chichawatni City police on Friday registered a case against 10 students and arrested three of them for rioting and ransacking the office of the Degree College principal, Chichawatni.

As per reports, around 10 students from other educational institutions entered the office of principal Munir and asked him to close the college for taking out a procession. On his refusal, the enraged students manhandled him, indulged in rioting and ransacked his office as well.

Later, they fled while resorting to aerial firing. On the report of the principal, the police have registered a case against the accused students and arrested Bashir Arslan, Qaisar Imran and Muhammad Imran.

CAUGHT: The Kot Khadim Ali Shah SDO raided Habib Town and caught an accused masquerading himself as meter inspector. Muhammad Yousaf was allegedly helping the consumers in stealing electricity by tampering with the meters.

The raid was conducted on the report of Sajid Mahmood of Habib Town. The accused confessed to have tampered with the metres of hundreds of consumers in the area.

ELECTROCUTED: Two friends were electrocuted on Friday in a nearby Dad Fatiana village. Zulfiqar Ahmed and Ismatullah switched on the tubewell motor of farmer Allah Bakhsh to take a bath.

The former received a severe shock when he tried to switch off the tubewell with his wet hands. His friend rushed to save him, but he also received a severe shock. Both of them died on the spot.
