KARACHI: 5 fishermen drown as boat capsizes

KARACHI, Sept 17: Five fishermen drowned into the sea when their vessel capsized near Korangi Creek on Friday morning. Edhi sources said that a vessel carrying around 45 fishermen had went on a fishing trip on Thursday night.

They said that the vessel capsized early on Friday morning near Korangi Creek. Forty fishermen swam to safety near Creek Club while five others drowned in the sea. Edhi divers later recovered the five bodies from the sea.

ACCIDENT: A young woman died in a hit-and-run accident in Liaquatabad on Friday. Police said that Farida Kanwal, 35, was crossing road when she was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. She was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she died during treatment.

BODY FOUND: The body of a young man was found from a narrow street in Block-8 of F.B. Area. Police said that Zahid, 32, was kidnapped from Gulistan-i- Jauhar on Thursday night.
