KARACHI, Sept 17: The central admission committee for colleges on Friday released the placement list of girl candidates selected for admissions to pre-engineering first year classes at different city colleges and higher secondary schools.

Releasing the details of the list, Prof Rais Alvi, the executive district officer (higher education), said that entire lot of applicants had been offered admission. Among 5,900 students placed for admission at 42 colleges and four higher secondary schools, 1,249 were A-1 graders, 1,809 A graders, 1,683 B graders, 952 C graders and 205 were D graders, he added.

According to the list, the closing marks at different colleges have been decreased with respect to the last year's figures. At the St. Joseph's College, PECHS College, St Lawrence, College, Government College Malir Cantt, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Degree Girls College and Sir Syed Girls College, the closing marks have been decreased.

The candidates have been advised to deposit their fees at their respective colleges and finalize the admissions within a period of seven days. According to the placement list prepared under the Centralized Admission Policy of the city government, the maximum and minimum marks for different colleges are as follows:
