KARACHI: Dost bananay say pehlay socha hota (should have thought before making friends) a longish title of poetry collection from poet Rehana Roohi was launched at the Arts Council on Thursday.
Its Adbi Committee and the monthly Dunya-i-Adab were the co- sponsors. Presided over by Jamiluddin Aali, it was addressed by Hemayat Ali Shaer, Prof Saher Ansari, Tajdar Adil and Javed Saba.
Poets Shakil Akhtar and Yamin Akhtar read out their verses in admiration of Roohi's ghazals, whose first collection 'Ishq Zaad' was published some years back. Rauf Siddiqui and Abdul Haseeb Khan, both special guest, were all admiration for Rehana Roohi's soulful poetry.
At the outset, Javed Saba presented his article defining the parameters of Roohi's ghazals, the word 'baden' or jism (body) being the base on which her lyrics stood.
